Pricing Methodology

TrendHQ is a market-reference and catalog platform, not a formal appraisal service. This page explains what the numbers include, what they exclude, and how incomplete coverage is presented.

Refresh cadence and timestamps

The ingestion pipeline is scheduled approximately daily. Upstream outages, rate limits, or slow database operations can delay an individual source. Pages therefore display the timestamp of the data snapshot they actually use rather than promising that every game updated at the same moment.

Current price and missing values

Rankings use positive USD market prices stored for an exact card printing. A missing price is excluded from averages, totals, and mover comparisons. It is not converted to $0. Set pages report both the catalog count and priced-card count so readers can judge coverage before using a total.

Market movers

A card qualifies only when TrendHQ has a positive current price and a positive baseline price near the start of the requested window. Change is calculated in both dollars and percentage. Large moves on low-priced or thinly traded cards should be manually checked against recent completed sales.

Raw cards, grading, and auctions

TrendHQ’s market pages describe raw-card price references. They do not appraise condition, assign a professional grade, calculate a population premium, or merge exceptional auction and private sale records into ordinary card rankings.
